that i agree with......considering the fact that America has had so many war...Im not a expert in war but i know America has fought with like the civil war, Vietnam, Iraq, ect. I personally blaim G . Bush for the war we are having know in Iraq, its always on the news!

I knew at kast I would have been able to explain my point. And I am relieved to know that you partially agree. The USA are probably the only example in history of a powerful empire whose power relies ONLY on military superiority: the Romans and Alexander the Great could also boast intellectual power. The USA are really just a war-machine, and not many "internationally relevant" intellectuals, with few exceptions (and most of them are not even born in the USA).

Actually, I wrote more than one comment: except for the first one, in every other comment I wrote that Americans are "on average" less literate than the average of most other countries, including several "third world" countries. And that is a fact proven by official reports and reasearches, including some made by US Government institutions: most Americans have just a vague idea of the world surrounding them. This is a proven and documented FACT.

Again, that's not something that I did: if you have ignorant friends, then that's not my fault. If your friends are not ignorant, so why taking offence? And, in any case, my opinion is that if US people are (on average) completely unaware of the rest of the planet, that's mostly because of their government fault. The best country in the world is a country where young people are sent to die in war because of the personal interests of a bunch of people in Washington.

And it is a fact that US people is by far the most ignorant among the peoples that have access to university studies, and even when you compare that average to the average of several 3rd world countries, the situation is not too good. Maybe because the richest country in the world prefers to buy bombs than to educate its people? You should rise against your government, for that!

Most Albanian college students speak at least 2 languages, and know where San Marino or every other country is. Most US college students faild to reply to simple question such: "is the Earth flat?" or "Australia is north or south of China" (as of an official survey by the US Government, 1999). Your countrymen spend their life in a box, without caring of anything that is at more than 2 meters from their backyards (and most of them don't know what a "meter" is, by the way).
