Wow the plan for that phone is expensive. The family plan my wife and I have together is cheaper than the plan for just one iPhone. And you can't even use the damn thing as the modem for your home computer. What a scam!! I mean it looks cool, and has some neat features, but its inability to be completely integratable reduces it to nothing more than an extra, frivolous household expense. Congrats to AT&T for your continued failing at making life simpler. Eli Whitney would be disappointed in you.

The actual price of the 3G iPhone is $399. What they are not saying is the $199 price is for new customers only and those AT&T customer who happen to be at the end of their 2 year contract and are "upgrade eligible." AT&T is actually penalizing their current, long-time and loyal customers a whopping $200 dollars more for the 3G model. There was 1 thing missing from the $199 that appeared on-screen behind Steve Jobs during his WWDC keynote address... the missing asterisk.

GGboy1987 You're mistaken. They didn't raise the price of service. The price of the 3G network was always $10 more than the EDGE network. Since the new iPhone uses the 3G network you have to pay the difference. Same thing goes for PPC phones.
